Where does the name Akashic records come from and what does it mean? How can a person prepare before a session? What does a teacher recommend in Akashic records and Reiki?
Hindu tradition maintains that the
Akashic records
are like a huge library that
stores the archives of the soul
of each being. Those who study and practice reading classify it as a type of alternative therapy that promotes self-knowledge of the person who consults.
Just as there are family constellations or biodecoding, “reading the akashic records” – say those who practice it – means “opening processes” that may come from past lives. Science does not endorse any of these practices as formal psychological therapy, but there are many people who claim to find answers in them.
“The records are known as those spaces, not physical but energetic, of the memories of the soul,” explains
Reiki and Akashic records teacher
Patricia Partesano to Clarín
.
Why are they called akashic records?
The name comes from the term
akasha
, a Sanskrit word meaning 'ether', 'space' or 'heaven'. According to the Vedas, sacred texts of Hinduism, this is the fifth element.
Partesano (on Instagram @guadalupanasoficial) points out: “In the
akasha
there is all the information of the entire universe, including the human being, that
energy that vibrates
and in which is all the information of all our lives, of our soul.” Its reading is not qualified as a divination tool nor is it intended to “predict the future” at any time.
“We understand that the soul, in some way through the chakras, is connected to a
universal source of information
and that source of information is what we can access through the practice of reading the akashic records,” indicates the specialist.
What does reading the Akashic records consist of?
According to Partesano, the person who guides and “opens” the records of that “universal source of information” channels different messages at the request of the person consulting and with the assistance of beings of light.
Sessions typically last
between 60 and 90 minutes
and involve asking questions, usually deep or existential, in conversation. For this reason, he indicates, it is considered that processes can be "opened" in people.
The person who guides is the one who starts the meeting, Partesano explains that it begins with a prayer in which the assistance of beings of light is requested and the full name of the consultant is mentioned. “The records are opened and when we are channeling that information, we are in some way attracting and anchoring the high energies in this plane,” he says.
The specialist in Akashic records points out that among the challenges and
responsibilities of the person who reads
and communicates that information to the other person is “transmitting without interference or prejudice, always in the best possible way” the data they receive.
The guide is a bridge
, a channel that puts that message into words, according to the specialist.
To close the session, the guide thanks the beings of light again and requests the closure of the person's records.
How to prepare for an Akashic records reading?
Partesano recommends that before a reading people write down the questions they want to consult and that, after a process of prior introspection, they can answer why they want to “open those records.”
The
Akashic records
and the holistic therapist who communicates them do not impose or tell what to do, but rather offer guidance on certain issues that have been raised.
Instead of waiting for an order or a yes or no answer, the expert states that the
most advisable questions are open ones
. For example, how can I improve my sense of connection with myself and others? How can I feel safer if I am afraid at times? Is this referring to a past life experience? What aspects of Am I not attending to my life today?
Another piece of advice that Partesano places greater emphasis on is that the consultant allow
at least six months
to pass between one session and the next “because the information needs to be processed.” In his opinion, "an instance is created between the client and the holistic therapist" that often constitutes a first step in her personal work journey.
In fact, he says that before starting the sessions he usually asks the person if they have a place and a person with whom they can continue working on the topics that appear in the session.
