Girlfriend just returned back from the UK and brought back a pile of crisps and other goodies. One of them was called Twiglets. Anyway they have a strange bitter taste. Are they supposed to taste like this or have they gone off?. cheers

Twiglets are nasty. Sour.
Smell a bit like unwashed ass.

They're dipped in Marmite. Persevere with them - you might get to like them.:D
In my opinion - Twiglets are yummy!

Dont think they should taste sour - as others say they should taste of marmite which is a yeast extract - the australian version is called vegemite.
There have been other flavours of twiglet though - worcester sauce springs to mind which might be the one you've got - if it is standard twiglet though it does sound wrong as the taste should be umami not sour.Options

Anyway I've grown to love them and have eaten the whole packet now:D

Did they use to do some Worcester sauce flavour at some time?

I suppose they are a bit like eating dry old twigs that have been Marmiteified.
Would have some if given them, but wouldn`t buy them specifically......I`m on the Twiglet fence.

Prefered them many years ago, when they were a lighter crisp & came in a box.
Still eat them nowadays but not often.
