JSU’s campus is 200 plus acres of beautiful landscape and the people represent the best of southern hospitality. Getting involved in the culture of JSU only enhances your experience and success inside and outside the classroom.

Campus life includes more than 130 clubs, student leadership programs, academic and social activities, internship/co-op, job counseling and study abroad programs.

International Student Association

The International Student Association (ISA) at Jackson State is a student organization that promotes and enhances international awareness, cooperation, cultural diversity and dialouge among international and American students for the benefit of Jackson State and the community. The ISA works to bring elements from distinct and richly diverse cultural backgrounds to share with the JSU community at a cultural, academic and social level.

Student organizations are vital entities at Jackson State. Each organization provides and promotes leadership development, community service and school spirit. Fitness

The JSU Recreation Complex / Walter Payton Center offers some of the most popular and active programs and services at JSU. Programs include competitive and intramural sports, community leagues, club sports, FitWell Programs, free group fitness classes (with membership), nutrition consultations, premium programs, an aquatics program and bike share program. Recreation space includes the 95,000 square foot Walter Payton Center, 12 outdoor tennis courts, an outdoor track, indoor pool and two outdoor fields. JSU ID / Supercard

The JSU IS is a multi-purpose card. Its primary function is to serve as an indentification card for all students, facultyand staff and must be worn and visible at all times. The JSU ID card also provides access to numerous venues both on and off campus. In addition to serving as a student ID, meal card and entrance into athletic events, it can be used with participating vendors, similar to a debit card. Jackson State is a Division 1 school and is in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). There are 18 athletic programs and the University has more than 50 SWAC championships in football, men and women’s basketball, volleyball, baseball, golf, tennis and bowling.
