....but back to the strawberry mint infused water recipe, because that's why you're here, right?

This is one of my favorite recipes in the book!

Something about the combination of sweet strawberries and fresh mint just mingle together in a way that is crisp - yet slightly sweet - in a way that is oh-so-refreshing!

We grow a mint plant mostly so I have a ready supply of fresh mint available for infused water! If you don't have your own mint plant, that's okay! Just pick up a small pack of organic mint in the produce aisle of your local grocery store or at your local farmers market.

Benefits of Infused Water

The truth is that most Americans aren't drinking enough water.

Water is essential for literally every single process your body performs for you - from detoxification to digestion to thinking!

Dehydration can cause brain fog, toxins to build up in your system and digestive distress.

The same chronically dehydrated Americans say the reason they aren't drinking more water (even though they know they should!) is because they don't like the taste of water. Even if you filter your water to remove common contaminants and improve the flavor of your water, many people find plain water to be really, well, plain. And boring. Which is why it's so common to turn to beverages like soda, coffee, juice and sweetened tea - for flavor.

The downside to this, though, is that flavors in these drinks come with calories, empty sugar, or artificial flavors that can mess with your endocrine systems.

When you infuse water with fruit and herbs, you improve the flavor without any of the sketchy ingredients or added calories - and your body gets the hydration it so desperately needs.
