Born in Hartford, daughter of the late John and Sarah (Cooney) Durkin, she had lived in South Glastonbury many years. She attended Mt. St. Joseph Academy and was a dental hygienist from Boston Medical College, and has been a loving wife and mother for over 50 years. Along with her husband she is survived by her three children, Sally, whom she made her home with, Annemarie and Richard Monge and son, John all from Glastonbury; her five grandchildren whom she loved and adored, Carrie and Brian Feltman of Upper Arlington, OH, Richard Monge, Christina and Nicholas Cavanna all of Glastonbury; a brother, William Durkin and his wife, Sylvia of Unionville; her family of in Jenny Valluzzi, Teresa Priskwaldo, Frances Baribault, Mary Shiebler, John and Theresa Cavanna, Gerald and Nancy Cavanna, James and Sandra Cavanna, Martha Cavanna; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was born Feb. 14, 1910 in Proctor, VT. and was a resident of Springfield, VT. most of her life before moving to South Windsor. She was predeceased by husband, Henry G.

Leonard J. Berman, of Mohawk Drive, West Hartford, died Wednesday, (March 24, 2004) surrounded by his wife, sister-in-law Faith and brother-in-law Burton. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late William and Sylvia (Elman) Berman. He attended Weaver High School, Hartford, and Champlains Army College, Veteran New York. of the He was Korean War.

Mr. Berman was an owner of Berman Appliances, Franklin Avenue, Hartford until his retirement. He then went on to K. Lavery's in West Hartford. He was a long time member of Congregation Beth Israel, West Hartford.

Leonard was an athlete who enjoyed walking, hiking, biking, and skiing. He also pursued hobbies gardening and was a nature lover. He leaves his beloved wife, Nancy (Shapiro) Berman; his devoted sister and brother-in-law, Faith and Burton Levy of West Hartford and their children: Lisa Levy and David Patin of Austin, TX, Jill and Philip Grand and Erin and Linda Grand of Hillsborough, NJ; and his brother, Joel Berman and his wife Barbara Dean and their families of Bloomfield. He also leaves a daughter, Heidi Price and her husband Glen and grandson, Glennie New York, NY; and his son Eric of Wolcott. Hazard was a World War Marine Corp. Veteran serving in Bougainville and Guam and later was in auto sales. Fiore, 81, of West Stafford Stafford Springs, died Thursday (March 25, 2004) at home after a brief illness. She was born in Norwich, the daughter of the late John and Helen (Foley) Driscoll, and moved to Stafford at a young age. After graduation from Stafford High School, she was employed as an executive secretary in the Office of the State Commissioner on Domestic Animals until after her marriage. She returned to State service when Benjamin Muzio was named Commissioner of Motor Vehicles and remained until her retirement in 1987. She has been active in politics in the Town since she Democratic, became a voter and participated in political campaigns and elections through the years.

She was secretary of the Stafford Democratic Town Committee for 22 years, been a member of the Committee for more than 50 years. She was a communicant of St. Edward Parish, a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for over 50 years, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Italian Benefit Society, and was a Notary Public. Eleanor is survived by her loving husband of 58 years of and marriage daughters-in-law Kenneth Fiore; two Michael sons. Fiore and Diane P.

Carolyne Lea Fisanich, 78, beloved wife of 48 years to Nicholas Fisanich, Wallingford, died on Wednesday, (March 24, 2004) in CT Hospice, 'Branford. Daughter of the late Joseph and Goldie Thompkins Sicotte, she was born on October 26, 1925, in Montreal, Canada and was a Milford resident and Apex, NC before moving to Wallingford. Mrs. Fisanich was the at the Bridgeport Hospital Federal Credit Union before her retirement. In addition to her husband, she leaves a daughter, Denise Chandler of Wallingford; two sons, Gary Gray, Sr.

and his wife Jacqueline of West Haven; Robert Gray of Manchester; four grandson, Nicholas Gray, Austin and Barrett Chandler; two great grandchildren; a sister, Yvonne Davis; two brothers of Milford, Roger and his wife, Eleanor of Milford; Arthur Sicotte of New York; and many nieces and nephews. NAZZARO, Betsy M. Betsy M. Nazzaro, 81, of Rocky Hill, died Monday (March 22, 2004). Born in Rocky Hill, she was daughter of the late Samuel and Jennie Nazzaro. She lived her entire life in Rocky Hill, 80 years in the same house.

Betsy graduated from Wethersfield High School, class of 1940. She worked for 22 years at Aetna Fire Ins. Co. In 1965, she went to work for her brother-in-law, William Smith at Service Press Inc. She worked there until the company closed in 1978.

Betsy then went to work for the State of Conn. at the Transportation Dept. She retired in 1989 to stay at home and care for her mother and her younger sister, Mary Margaret (the love of her life). She devoted the last 20 years of her life caring for others and still found time to be Republican Registrar of Voters in Rocky Hill from 1972 to 1997. Betsy was predeceased by three sisters, Esther Nazzaro, Elizabeth O'Donnell and Mary Margaret Nazzaro.

She is survived by a brother, Samuel and his wife Angela; a sister, Dorothy Smith and her husband William. She is also survived by four nephews, Scott Smith of Wethersfield, William Smith, Jr. of Alexandria, VA, Samuel Nazzaro of Lynn, MA and Daniel Nazzaro and his wife, Dawn and their children of Cromwell; a niece, Lucinda Cooper and her fiance, Louis Presta and a great niece, Amy, all of Rocky Hill. Hauschild, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, (March 24, 2004) after a courageous four year battle with cancer.

She was born in Derby on April 26, 1926, daughter of the late Thomas E. and Anna (O'Neill) Rose and resided in this state all her life. She graduated from Middietown High School, Class of '44, and attended Middlesex Hospital School of Nursing, Hartford Colfor Women, St. Joseph College and the University of Hartford. She is survived by her daughters, Theresa Donovan of Bristol, Katherine Clark of Manchester; and her son, Dr.

Douglas C. Hauschild of Asheville, NC, as well as a brother, Thomas E. Rose, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; and a sister, Virginia Wodecki of Peoria, AZ. She also had 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Barbara was a stay at home Mom, but before marriage she worked as a technician in Materials Development Laboratories at Pratt Whitney Aircraft and after the children were raised, she worked as an Underwriter at the Traveler's Insurance Company for over 20 years. She was an active member of St. Bartholomew Church, since, it's was a inception member of in the Adult Choir, Bazaar Committee, Alter Committee, Parish Council, St. Gerard Mothers Circle, CCD Staff, Baptismal Garment Committee and at one time the Girl Scout Leader for it's Girl Scout Troop. Barbara was a past president of the Gibbons Assembly.

Rudy honorably served his country during World War as a Machinist Mate, 3rd class on the USS Dayton in the Navy and as a Sergeant in the Air National Guard during the Korean Conflict. Murah, died suddenly Wednesday (March 24, 2004). Born in Phoenix, AZ, August 2, 1955, daughter of Worley Louis and Annie Margaret (Briggs) Lewallen, she resided in Farmington for the last 13 years. She received dual Bachelor degrees from UMASS-Amherst, one in Chemical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. For the last 13 years, Belinda was associated with in the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, as a nurse in the Oncology and departments. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Congregational in Farmington.

Friends may call at the chapel Saturday, a.m. Mary 'Maureen' Kelly, 73, wife of the late John M. Kelly, of West Hartford, died Wednesday (March 24, 2004). Born in Hartford, the daughter of the late Patrick and Anna Mae (Crawley) Maloshe graduated from Mt. St.

ney, Joseph Academy and St. Francis School of Nursing. Maureen went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree from Boston College and two Master's Degrees from Columbia and Catholic University. She worked as a nurse and retired from the New York City Board of Education and returned to West Hartford, where she has lived for the past 15 years. Maureen was active in the St.

Francis Hospital School of Nursing Alumni, volunteered at St. Joseph Convent and St. Francis Hospital, and was a member of the Serra Club. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and was active in numerous events and groups including their Women's Guild, establishing the Shrine of Divine Mercy, was a Eucharist Minister visiting people in their homes and convalescent homes.

She remained loyal and true all her days to family, friends and her church. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. She is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, John T. and Gloria Maloney of West Hartford, Robert V. and lana Maloney of South Glastonbury; a niece; eight nephews, nine grandnieces, 13 grand nephews, and many relatives in Ireland.

The funeral will be Saturday, at 9:15 a.m. from the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington West Hartford, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St Thomas the Apostle Church. Burial will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.

He was born in District of Augustow, Poland. After trade school he worked in an Aircraft Estab- I I lishment in Rzeszow, During the Red Army invasion he was wounded in an air raid and joined the Polish underground.

He was arrested by Soviets and spent eight month in prison He was sentenced for eight years to a hard labor camp and released Oct. 15, 1941 after amnesty. He was evacuated to the Middle Ease and near East, South Africa, Brazil and then Scotland, where he joined the Polish Armed Forces under Allied command. He took part in the 1944-1945 campain of Western Europe, and fought in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. In 1947 returned to Great Britain and.

in 1954 emigrated with his family the United States. He retired from Exello Corp in 1982.He was a member of J. Pilsudski' Institute of New York; Polish American Congress in Connecticut; First Polish Armoured Divison Veterans Ass. of Chicago; Gen. Haller Post; Falcons Nest 88; and an Honorary member of Polonia Paderewski Choir.

He was a great Author of several books like; Wmoin Zwierciadle" "Wiersze Takie "Rymowane Sciezki" and "I Skierki Ducha" he also published great many article in the Polish Press in the United States and Poland. He was known by many organizations as an active organizer and author of souvernir books He had a unique way with words and a special way with people; he was deeply respected by people from all walks of life, and had a special affection for children. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends and all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Jolanta and his beloved son, Edward Kierklo and his Joanna of California; a dra nephew, Anthony and AleksanPietrusiewicz of Long Island; two sisters in Poland and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 27, at 10:15 a.m.
