An Australian schoolteacher has shared her hack for cooking the perfect "cheat's poached egg" in just 45 seconds.
Katie Lolas, who shares her healthy kitchen and lifestyle tips on Instagram, posted a step-by-step video of her trick to making poached eggs with a glass of water and a microwave.
The Sydney-based mum told followers to crack an egg in a quarter-filled cup of water, poke the whites around the yolk with a fork and pop it in the microwave for 45 seconds.

The result is a perfectly-cooked poached egg, which pairs perfectly with a slice of sourdough toast and some fresh avocado.
"If you don't have a poaching contraption on hand and hate the taste of vinegar in your poached eggs, then this is for you. Whether it's for eggs Benedict or avocado toast, this is the foolproof way to make poached eggs in the microwave!" Lolas wrote on Instagram.
"Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup water to a microwave safe cup or mug. Crack an egg into the water ensuring that the egg is covered with water.
Poke the whites around the egg yolk 3 times with a fork or knife so the whites cook well. Cook on high for 45 secs in the microwave with an extra 15 second blasts if the egg isn't cooked to your liking. Strain from the water and add to your dish of choice!"
