Pokémon TCG: New Illustration Rare Of Fan-Favorite Pokémon Will Be A Must-Have Card (2024)

Summary

  • The Illustration Rare Zorua card from Night Wanderer is a Pokémon TCG collector's must-have, featuring beautiful artwork of the Pokemon.
  • The card may be included in the Shrouded Fable expansion, set to arrive in the West in early August.
  • In total, three new cards for Night Wanderer were revealed, which include Zorua and its evolution, Zoroark.

A new Illustration Rare card for Pokémon TCG’s upcoming Night Wanderer set has emerged and based on its illustration portraying a fan-favorite Pokémon, it will certainly be a must-have for collectors. Night Wanderer is a new set that is due to arrive in early June, exclusively in Japan. The collection will feature several creatures from Kitakami, as it portrays the Mochi Mayhem epilogue from Generation 9 games, Scarlet and Violet. Several of its cards will make it to the West with the release of Pokémon TCG: Shrouded Fable in August.

Possibly one of these cards, a new Illustration Rare version of Zorua for the Night Wanderer expansion has been officially revealed ahead of its release. As reported by Pokébeach, three new cards were showcased: two versions of Zorua and one version of Zoroark. One of the Zorua’s is a regular print, while the other is the Illustration Rare. The Zoroark card is shown in its regular print, and there are no mentions of an Illustration Rare version of the card or, possibly, a Zoroark ex, which could then come with its special versions in Pokémon TCG.

Zorua Illustration Rare Card In Pokémon TCG Is A Collector’s Necessity

Night Wanderer Card May Make It Into Shrouded Fable

While all three cards have their own value and feature eye-grabbing illustrations, the Illustration Rare version of Zorua is certainly a collector’s necessity. The first aspect of the item is that it is a rare card that portrays Zorua, a fan-favorite Pokémon despite its somewhat late release in Gen 5 games. In addition to that, the already cute Dark-type Pokémon is featured in a heartwarming piece of artwork that just makes it even more adorable than it is in its regular print of the Pokémon TCG card.

“It is uncertain if this trio of cards will be adapted into the Shrouded Fable expansion in the West.”

The artwork for Illustration Rare card showcases Zorua sleeping at the edge of a temple’s rooftop, with its legs dangling from the side and its head gently resting atop the structure. The illustration by the artist known as REND also features a blurred yet sparkling background that seems like light passing through trees’ foliage or snow dropping in the background. This special piece of artwork featuring Zorua is certainly going to be sought after once the Night Wanderer expansion is released for Pokémon TCG.

In terms of function, like the regular print, Zorua has a colorless Energy attack called Stampede, which deals 10 damage, and a Dark and a Colorless Energy attack called Double Scratch, which deals 20x damage – players need to flip two coins and the attack will deal 20 damage for each heads. At the moment, it is uncertain if this trio of cards will be adapted into the Shrouded Fable expansion in the West, though its possible addition could be teased as the set’s release approaches.

Not every card in a Japanese set makes it into the direct Western counterpart. A few cut Pokémon TCG: Twilight Masquerade cards, for instance, hinted at the Shrouded Fable expansion.

While there is uncertainty as to when the Zorua Illustration Rare card will be available for collectors in the West, it is likely arriving with the Shrouded Fable expansion. If this is what happens, after all, then players may start searching for their own Illustration Rare Zorua card in Pokémon TCG’s Shrouded Fable expansion as early as August 2.
