Brach's Confections was sold to Farley's and Sathers Candy Company. Ferrara Pan merged with Farley's and Sathers to form Ferrara Candy Company, where Brach's is still produced.

Brach, according to the book and documents, was kidnapped, beaten, and shot, her body disposed of in an Indiana steel furnace. The theory is the order was given by a notorious Chicagoland horse dealer.

Brach's (/ˈbrɑːks/) is a candy and sweets brand of Ferrara Candy Company.

In 2003, under Barry Callebaut AG, Brach's moved primary production out of Chicago and into Mexico. It still maintained operations in Chicago and Chattanooga, but most of its mainstay products were made in Mexico.

Ferrara Candy, the Oakbrook Terrace-based maker of Brach's, Trolli and Lemonhead candy, is being acquired by Ferrero, the Italian maker of Nutella and Tic Tacs. The acquisition has been reviewed by the Federal Trade Commission.

Helen Brach was the third wife of Frank Brach. Frank had sold the family business to American Home Products Corp. in 1966 for $136 million (about $1.24 billion in 2022 dollars), and when Frank died in 1970, Helen's share of the Brach inheritance equated to nearly $149 million in today's dollars.

Although her body has never been found, Brach was declared legally dead and investigators suspect her remains were dissolved in a chemical vat or blast furnace in 1977 with help from the Chicago Outfit when she threatened to expose horse traders who had swindled her out of millions of dollars.

Because of the sugar shortage, Atkinson Candy in Texas is struggling to fulfil the year's remaining orders for hard candies, caramels and peanut brittle, according to a Wall Street Journal report. As many as 11 sugar suppliers had earlier turned down the candy manufacturer's demand.
