Though the high school basketball season concludes, there are plenty of notable underclassmen prospects who deserve recognition for their production. Prep Hoops will provide various editions of true stock risers from the 2025-2028 classes. Let’s get into a list of “Next Up” risers.

Landyn Colyer Landyn Colyer 6'5" | SF SFA Academy | 2026 FL | Wing | 2026 | North Tampa Christian | @Landyncolyer

This kid has been consistently putting in the work in the offseason with notable AAU tournament performances. He’s fresh off a productive high school season where he made an impact in several categories for his new home. Colyer is a versatile athlete with a 6-5 frame who can handle the rock, and initiate the offense off the dribble. He has a solid IQ as well to find open teammates and a strong motor to crash the boards. Colyner averaged 15.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.9 steals in his sophom*ore season. Should for sure be on your radar college coaches.

Tim Winkler | F | 2026 | Oak Ridge | @thetimwinkler

The Pioneers basketball program is known for producing next level athletes and they may have another rising star as 2026 Tim Winkler is starting to develop his overall game as a 6-10 stretch forward prospect. He’s getting some attention from major universities after showing off his nice frame and versatility to be a problem on both ends of the floor. Winkler is a lengthy forward who runs the floor well, face-up near the rim and defends well. Look out for the offers to come in as he has two more years of development at the prep level.

Nolan Nelson Nolan Nelson 6'7" Patriot Oaks Academy | 2027 State FL | F | 2027 | Creekside | @NolanNelson2027

The dual-sport athlete is listed at 6-7, 210 pounds with the ability to be mobile and fluid because of his overall athleticism. He’s a problem near the rim and is becoming more well-rounded with his game which includes a solid jump shot to help stretch the floor. Nelson led his high school in scoring this past season with 13.6 points per game while shooting 61% from the field. He also crashed the boards as he grabbed 7.7 rebounds per game with 1.4 blocks to add on the defensive end. This kid has the tools and potential to develop into a premier recruit.

Julian Fox | CG | 2027 | Southeastern Prep Academy | @JulianFox228201

Fox has been turning heads this offseason with some impressive offseason performances. At 6-foot-3, he has quickly become one of the standout 2027 prospects in Central Florida, thanks to his agility and scoring prowess. Fox’s solid jump shot and all-around game make him a real threat on the court. Still a lot of time for growth before the recruiting turns up but watch out for this kid to make some noise this season.

Ayden “Scoot” Donald | G | 2027 | Tampa Bay Tech | @SkootDonald

Had a chance to watch this kid go to work this fall season and Donald had to be one of the more exciting 2027 guards to see compete. This kid is electric with the ball in his hands where he uses speed and agility to get past defenders where he can finish with a jumper or dish to open teammates. He’s a rising true point guard prospect with more growth in his frame and overall game will have college coaches interested in his potential.

Tai Bell | G | 2028 | @TaiBoogie5

Being an athlete runs in the Bell genes as rising 2028 guard Tai Bell is developing into a notable prospect in the South Florida area. The son of 12-year NBA veteran and brother of 5-star QB Dia Bell, this young man is becoming a star in his own right on the hardwood. Bell has a solid frame at 6-2, 170 pounds with plenty of time to grow his overall bag. He’s a quick guard with solid handles and nice finishing moves around the rim. Excited to watch this kid put it all together in the next few years.

Cordarius White | CG | 2026 | Gainesville | @WhiteCordarius

White is a 6-4 combo guard that is trying to make a name for himself on the court and in the classroom with a solid 3.6 GPA. He’s a deadly threat from behind the arc, hitting 45% from three. He’s not just about offense though; his defense is solid, making him a key player on both ends. His size also helps him defend multiple positions effectively. Overall, he’s a well-rounded player with brains and skills, making him a great look for college programs.
