These 3 N.J. hospitals are among the busiest ERs in the nation (1)

Three of the nation’s busiest emergency rooms are right here in New Jersey.

Becker’s Hospital Review compiled data on emergency rooms with the highest volume in the country.

The list — sourced from self-reporting by U.S. hospitals — included 48 facilities with the most emergency visits in the nation in 2022. According to Becker’s, most of the hospitals experienced a rise in visits last year.

Here are the three New Jersey hospitals that made the list:

  • Hackensack University Medical Center — 133,190 visits (10th in the nation)
  • St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson — 112,690 visits (23rd in the nation)
  • Morristown Medical Center — 103,674 visits (34th in the nation)
