10 Blue Lock Players With The Biggest Ego (2024)

Blue Lock has gone through three distinct selection processes where players have fought to become the best striker in the world. Jinpachi Ego, leader of Blue Lock, has decided that players need a healthy ego to reach the world champion level. Ego manifests itself in a variety of forms, but a consistent theme in Blue Lock is that characters with weaker egos don't make it to the next round.

However, the greatest characters in the franchise are still able to make passes and selfless plays when it's required of them. Blue Lock has already established that properly utilizing teammates is part of what makes a great egoist, and the best don't try to do it solo.

10 Jingo Raichi

While expert defender Raichi clearly has the ego of his fellow Team Z players. However, while Raichi is always in a bad mood, he made a shockingly selfish decision to play defense for the entire Team V match.

In one of the most crucial games of Isagi's career, Raichi was able to aggravate and lock down Reo, Team V's second-best player. Raichi was one of the physically strongest and fiercest defenders on Team Z, and it took some selflessness to take that role as a striker.

9 Reo Mikage

10 Blue Lock Players With The Biggest Ego (2)

Reo has been on the losing end of two of the most exciting games in Blue Lock, but he's still a perfect foil for Isagi. A former striker with more qualities of a defensive midfielder rather than an offensive player like Isagi, Reo often makes selfless passes and plays for his team.

While Reo doesn't care as much about actually scoring goals, he does have his own form of ego. Reo likes to dominate players defensively and read the field, and his perfect passes are something that he takes great pride in.

8 Meguru Bachira

10 Blue Lock Players With The Biggest Ego (3)

Bachira is normally a caring best friend to Isagi, and his ego rarely shows itself. However, when Bachira is pushed to his limit, he shows an ego bigger than almost any other character in the series, thanks to the "monster" inside of him.

Being a lovable goofball is one side to the monster, so Bachira doesn't always display the ego of his fellow strikers, and his passes are usually very selfless. Even still, Bachira showed his own ego against Team V and throughout the second selection.

7 Hyoma Chigiri

10 Blue Lock Players With The Biggest Ego (4)

Chigiri started the series ready to give up on soccer, unable to recover mentally from a brutal ACL injury. However, Chigiri was able to overcome his past to become the fastest player in Blue Lock and one of the best overall players.

Chigiri wasn't one of the more egotistical characters initially, but he's become a true egoist after his awakening against Team W. Chigiri is constantly evolving and focuses on himself, but is still a team player who is willing to pass.

6 Yoichi Isagi

10 Blue Lock Players With The Biggest Ego (5)

Isagi may have begun Blue Lock as an indecisive, mediocre soccer player. However, he's had more growth throughout Blue Lock than any other player. Isagi's ego has also grown tremendously, along with his vast repertoire of skills.

Isagi has learned how to devour his teammates' skills and always prioritizes his and his team's growth over personal feelings. Isagi is a great main character and a true egoist, always adapting to do whatever it takes to win and improve.

5 Seishiro Nagi

10 Blue Lock Players With The Biggest Ego (6)

Seishiro Nagi may have come into the Blue Lock program as Reo's best friend and "treasure," but he quickly outgrew Reo after their loss to Team Z. Nagi is one of the greatest prodigies in the series, and his skills are remarkable for someone who has only played for half a year.

While Nagi is one of the best characters in terms of raw skills, he developed the ego to match. Nagi went from relying on Reo's passes to actively seeking his own goal. For a character who started out relatively lazy, Nagi learned that winning made him feel good.

4 Jyubei Aryu

10 Blue Lock Players With The Biggest Ego (7)

Aryu is a fantastic soccer player on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, with one of the more unique personalities in Blue Lock. Aryu's stylish soccer is matched by a distinct vanity in his physical appearance as well as his soccer skills.

Aryu's mix of soccer ego and personal vanity makes him one of the most conceited players on the court, but he isn't afraid to acknowledge the skills of others. Aryu has complimented both Bachira and Rin's abilities. However, at the end of the day, he wants to stand out the most.

3 Rin Itoshi

10 Blue Lock Players With The Biggest Ego (8)

So far, Rin Itoshi is the best striker in the Blue Lock program. The younger brother of genius midfielder Sae Itoshi, Rin entered Blue Lock solely to get revenge on his brother and destroy him in soccer.

While Rin is nowhere near the overall level of his older brother, he has an ego befitting of the best player in Blue Lock. Rin never hesitates to call others "lukewarm," "half-baked," or "stepping stones." His insults are on another level, but so are his skills.

2 Sae Itoshi

10 Blue Lock Players With The Biggest Ego (9)

Sae Itoshi is by far the most skilled overall U-20 character in Blue Lock. Rin's older brother and one of the best midfielders in the world, Sae's abilities as both a passer and a scorer are unlike anything that the other season one characters have encountered.

While other characters aim to be the best striker in the world, Sae already stands at the top of the world in his position. He's one of the best midfielders in the world, and he wears that title with the ego and pride befitting of the main antagonist of Blue Lock.

1 Shoei Baro

10 Blue Lock Players With The Biggest Ego (10)

"King" Baro is one of the most skilled characters in Blue Lock, but he was also the only character who refused to act as a team player. King Baro is the definition of how an ego can be both a great weapon and a hindrance.

While Baro was able to overcome the weaknesses that his ego created, he still has more faith in himself than any character in Blue Lock. The King has the skills to back up his ego, and he never gave up on his philosophy even after it was challenged.
